Our Story

De Duine Hotel, established in 1964, stands as a beloved historic landmark, offering comfortable and affordable accommodation.

Following the 1929 discovery of a freshwater resource, the coastal town of Henties Bay developed gradually from a small human settlement in the 1960’s to a well-developed town today.

De Duine Hotel forms an integral part of the history of Henties Bay – established in 1964, the Hotel quickly became a popular hub for locals and holidaymakers alike.

As one of the first hotels in Henties Bay, we have witnessed the town’s transformation and have been privileged to host countless travelers seeking relaxation, adventure, and a true taste of Namibian hospitality.

Perched on a dune overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, De Duine Hotel is a well-loved , prominent historic
landmark in the town of Henties Bay today. The Hotel is within walking distance from the town centre.

The Hotel comes alive especially during holiday seasons as holidaymakers flock to the coast to relax and
enjoy alfresco get togethers with family and friends.

The Hotel is also the accommodation of choice for tourists as well as fishermen, with comfortable and
reasonably priced accommodation and a well-run kitchen catering for all tastes and preferences.
